Background
Leopold Aschenbrenner is a former member of OpenAI's Superalignment team. In June 2024 he published Situational Awareness: The Decade Ahead, a 165-page essay that became one of the most-discussed documents in AI forecasting. He subsequently launched Situational Awareness LP, an investment firm built around the thesis in the essay.

Situational Awareness LP
After leaving OpenAI, Aschenbrenner founded Situational Awareness LP, an investment firm that puts capital behind the trends the essay describes.
